Pop off valve conversion kit to S3 / Golf R technology for 2.0 TFSI transverse engines from the VAG Group

The excess boost pressure is diverted directly in front of the throttle valve. Since the valve in our system is located behind the intercooler, only the cold air is circulated. The pop off valve is standard in many engines before the intercooler and thus only hot uncooled air is circulated.

A leaking valve will result in poorer response and performance losses, which is not immediately noticed in most cases, as the damage is insidious and does not occur suddenly. As a result, you get used to a deteriorating response and loss of performance.

The kit uses the kit to move the valve to a cooler area, with the added benefit of eliminating heat damage and allowing cooler air into the intake system. The cooler the air, the better the cylinder filling, which also results in higher performance.

Please note that your intake manifold has a connection for the return from the pop off valve.

This valve is fully engineered to remedy the failure issues experienced with the OEM solenoid valves when their diaphragm may rupture which results in a boost leak. The later revision OEM valves have a longer lift but ultimately the plastic brittles and in extreme circumstances, parts of the plastic can break off. Forge Motorsport is proud to release the latest version of our very popular solenoid driven valve for the 2013-on VAG 1.8 TSI engine (US codes CPKA and CPRA) and 2.0 TSI engine (Euro code CNTA, CHHA, CHHB, CJXB and CJXC;US codes CPLA and CPPA). This valve is a full replacement atmospheric blow-off valve (i.e. noisy) that integrates seamlessly with the OEM electronics and results in no detriment in performance, and absolutely NO fault codes or check engine lights, which isn’t something that can be said of our competition !

This valve uses a Copper and Zinc alloy piston which utilises new sealing technology along with a variable spring preload incorporating a ratchet type top adjuster that will allow for the positive and precise adjustment to match the valve to your engine. This is achieved by using a unique single, conical, progressive rate spring that can allow for the retention of boost pressure over a wide adjustment range. This unique spring design also allows for unrestricted piston travel and flow volume regardless of the amount of pre-load adjustment added to the spring. In performance-enhanced engines, the diaphragms of the OEM valves tears. This leads to loss of performance. At first, you do not notice the loss of boost pressure as the membrane creeps in slowly.

Forge blow-off valves eliminate this vulnerability. The valves are made of billet aluminum and therefore absolutely reliable.

Forge Capacity Piston Valve FMDV7 with Fitting Kit AUDI RS3 8V.

This valve kit was developed for those who have tuned, or plan to tune, their vehicles in excess of 450hp, as it was observed that cars over 450bhp were randomly getting errors from the stock solenoid valve not functioning. Whilst the stock valve will operate as designed, with the boost level necessary for 450bhp, the stock valve couldn?t move the amount or volume of air it needed to , so the ECU was seeing too great a positive boost in the MAP readings between gearchanges and assuming the stock valve wasn?t functioning correctly. We looked closely at this issue and noted that there would be no real fix for this as the size of the hole for the valve is too small in the stock elbow.

We decided that we would re-design and produce our own elbow, allowing a much larger dv port, which in turn would allow fitment of a larger valve, to take advantage of it. We also improved the internal flow of the elbow and removed restriction within the valve. With the engine management on this engine being MAP based rather than MAF based, which is unlike many other Audi engines, we have also incorporated the option into the kit of being able to run as a recirculation valve or with an atmospheric discharge / Blow off.

Blow Off Valve Fitting Kit from FORGE for Fiat Punto 1.4 Turbo.

The FMFK027 Fitting Kit simplifies the mounting of the Blow Off Valve.

The FMDVR60A Blow Off Valve is made of billet aluminium.

Designed specifically for the BMW/Peugeot N18 engines, (Cooper S 2011 onwards, JCW Cooper S 2013 onwards, R58 Coupe 2012 onwards, Peugeot 208 GTi late 2012 onwards, RCZ THP 156 & 200 2011 on). This product is either recommended where the boost pressure has been increased by an ECU software upgrade, for those wanting a loud blow off sound, or simply as a solution to the many failures that have occurred. The most common complaint on the OEM solenoid valve is a split diaphragm preventing the valve from opening fully, or not at all. This doesn’t always result in a check engine light as the valve can still be blown open by the boost pressure. We have seen many valves with this problem (see image above).

The other problem is that diaphragm retaining ring is made from very thin plastic that goes brittle with heat cycles and oil contamination, and eventually fails. This prevents the diaphragm from sealing with the same problems as mentioned above. This particular failure also results in the valve falling apart upon removal from the turbo, though in extreme cases bits of plastic can enter the turbo and destroy it. (see image above)

Our alternative is a fully engineered solution offering both significantly improved reliability. Our valve is piston based, with no diaphragm to fail, and of all aluminium construction, it replaces the original unit with a pressure/vacuum operated piston valve that still also retains the desirable OEM ECU control over valve actuation. The valve has been proved on the VAG scene for many years. The spring is interchangeable for different levels of boost, and the solenoid is plug and play with the wiring harness which is included.

The valve is recommended for vehicles with ECU software conversions, tuned vehicles, and unused vehicles that operate in warmer climates and lose boost pressure when heat sensitive parts in the vehicle fail.
The reason is quite simple: The original plastic valves consist of a rubber diaphragm, which becomes porous over time and can tear quickly. If the diaphragm is defective, this is usually not detected, since the pressure loss occurs only slowly under full load. A permanent remedy can be found with a retrofit valve.

Type RS Pop Off Valve from Forge. The Forge RS valve has been specifically designed and engineered, to offer extreme flow rate capability, where other valves are just not up to it. Often when engines have been tuned by installing larger turbos or even software upgrades improved turbo response can be acheived by fitting the RS valve which has the greater internal mass air flow specification utilising an amazing 50mm (2") bore.

For fine tuning there is a variable spring preload incorporated and a ratchet type top adjuster that will allow for the positive and precise adjustment that your driving style demands. To ease installation a 360 degree adjustable vacuum hose connector
With a choice of inlet and outlet connections the RS valve can be matched to your engine perfectly.

This valve incorporates a unique conical, progressive rate spring that can allow for the retention of boost pressure from 7 to 34 PSI depending on the individual user's application and level of adjustment. This Valve was developed for higher flow rate capability. A 50mm (2 inches) bore brings an improved turbo response.

25mm or 34mm Connector.

This valve is an upgrade for the 2.0 turbocharged M133 engine found in the Mercedes AMG A45. The engine as supplied by AMG has a port for a dump valve on the side of the turbo, but it is blanked off. Whilst this is fine for the stock level of tune, as the boost is turned up when the car is remapped, driveability can be effected and the car can stutter on hard acceleration, which ultimately will reduce the life of the turbo.

Designed specifically for the BMW/Peugeot N18 engines, (Cooper S 2011 onwards, JCW Cooper S 2013 onwards, R58 Coupe 2012 onwards, Peugeot 208 GTi late 2012 onwards, RCZ THP 156 & 200 2011 onwards). This product is either recommended where the boost pressure has been increased by an ECU software upgrade or simply as a solution to the many failures that have occurred. The most common complaint on the OEM solenoid valve is a split diaphragm preventing the valve from opening fully, or not at all. This doesn’t always result in a check engine light as the valve can still be blown open by the boost pressure. We have seen many valves with this problem (see image above).

The other problem is that diaphragm retaining ring is made from very thin plastic that goes brittle with heat cycles, and eventually fails. This prevents the diaphragm from sealing with the same problems as mentioned above. This particular failure also results in the valve falling apart upon removal from the turbo, though in extreme cases bits of plastic can enter the turbo and destroy it.
